Research and development
The AIR TEAM company also proudly participates in several research and development projects.
One of the most important research and development projects was completed in cooperation with Aviation facility – Faculty of mechanical engineering at Technical University of Brno and it took care of installation of avionics to VUT 001 airplane. Airplane VUT 001 Marabu has been designed for testing technologies primarily engineered and developed for use in UAVs. Development was supported by MPO FI-IM3/041 project („Design and realization of airplane VUT 001 for support of civil sector use of UAVs”, 2006-2009). Other partners of this projects were companies První Brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš a.s. and Jihlavan Airplanes. Further information about this project can be found on: http://www.vutbr.cz/temata-vut-f18829/novy-experimentalni-letoun-vut-001-marabu-d35823.
At present, AIR TEAM s.r.o. is a supplier in the ESPOSA project (Efficient Systems and Propulsion for Small Aircraft), which was founded by the 7th Framework Program under the registration number 284859. The project is led by PBS (První Brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš a.s.). The main goal of the project is the development and integration of new turbine engines with an output of up to 1,000 kW for small aircraft. At the same time with this development, new avionics for turbine engines are being developed, which would help to increase engine efficiency, safety and reduce demands on the pilot.
