LIGHTWEIGHT DATA RECORDERS (LDR /xLDR)

The L3Harris Lightweight Data Recorders (LDR) are a small, lightweight package providing crash-protected recording of audio, image and flight data on General Aviation (GA) fixed-wing aircraft and rotary aircraft.

The new Extra Light Data Recorder (xLDR) is designed especially for eVTOL, light aircraft and unmanned systems. The ED-155 certified recorder exceeds mandates and global recommendations for crash[1]protected flight recorders on smaller aircraft. It weighs only 2.43 lbs with enhanced features including increased data rate collection, auto-recording and pilot-control capabilities.

Any subset of the total LDR capability can be utilized for any particular installation not intended for regulatory[1]mandated applications. While some installations may make use of only the audio and image recording capability, others may want to exploit the full audio, image, data (ARINC 717 or ARINC 429) and GPS recording.

A built-in web server makes it easy for data retrieval and configuration with just a laptop and web-browser. No expensive software or complicated cabling is required for on-aircraft downloads.
